Training
6 City & Guilds approved modules are on offer. Our dedicated
training workshop is fully equipped with training rig, cutaway
sections
of components with full multi-media presentation.
We are committed to offering training to the highest standard
and the greatest depth. The technical training programme teaches
the theoretical and practical foundations (such as equipment operation,
service procedure and theoretical principles) before moving on
to
more specialist areas, including component construction and operation,
electrical control and diagnostic skills. This allows the technicians
to handle a full range of a/c work rather than being limited to
basic a/c servicing. Technicians develop advanced skills over an
extended period. Knowledge is developed by following a logical
learning
path and learnt in manageable sections, with time between modules
to cement new skills.

Module 1: Fundamentals and Refrigerant Handling
Two major areas are covered. The first is a broad introduction
to the theory and principles of automotive air conditioning. This
includes heat transfer, humidity, temperature and pressure. There
is also examination of system components and control.
The second key area concentrates more on contextual issues. These
include environmental implications and health and safety regulations.
Clear best practise procedures are promoted for refrigerant handling
and equipment operation. On completion, technicians have a foundation
knowledge, which the other modules then build upon. Service and
repair procedures and equipment operation are covered allowing technicians
to work this area safely and effectively. Practical understanding
of process from refrigeration recovery to final charging is covered
to allow technicians to leave the two-day course with skills to
safely develop their capabilities.
Module 2: Components
This module examines in considerable detail automotive air conditioning
parts and components. Clear explanation is provided of construction,
operation, fitting, service and repair. Understanding is aided through
the use of cutaways for demonstration purposes. While learning this
new detail technicians are forced to re-use the information learnt
in module 1
Module 3: Auto Electrics
This module examines the fundamentals of auto electrical circuits.
Wiring diagrams and explanations of component operation enable fairly
detailed understanding of key principles. As all a/c systems use
electrical control this knowledge should be universally applicable.
The moves towards increasing electrical complexity and climate control
systems mean that a foundation of electrical understanding will
be vital. This module provides the preparatory knowledge required.
Module 4: Basic Diagnosis
This module involves another increase in the level of detail concerning
likely system faults. Greater detail on faults and causes is taught
along with proper checking, fault diagnosis and data collection
procedures
Module 5 Climate Control
Provide a more specialist knowledge relating to some general challenges
that climate control systems pose. As previously the construction,
location and operation of key components is covered in some detail.
Wider understanding of the effect of integrated climate control
systems on the entire heating and ventilation system is also studied.
Module 6: Advanced Diagnosis
For many of the most complex modern climate control systems fairly
advanced diagnosis techniques and methods ar4e required. Study is
included of the proper tools and procedures for the involved types
of diagnosis and repair
